The UK’s external wall insulation industry trade association INCA (Insulated Render & Cladding Association) have been celebrating some of the best EWI projects from 2020 – including one worked on by ourselves here at Westville.
The 2020 INCA awards were held in an online ceremony and showcased a wide range of schemes including new builds & refurbishments across residential, commercial, and educational sectors.
It was within the refurbishment sector where our work was showcased.
Our work on Romorantin Place in Long Eaton was highly commended, with praise for the results, efficiency, and high-quality materials used in the work.
Prior to the work, Romorantin Place was a derelict, boarded up residential block. However, with our external wall insulation system provided by SPS Envirowall, we were able to breathe new life into the building. The 130-180mm mineral wool insulation used was ideal for this sort of project, and helped to achieve 0.3 u values. It also provided an effective solution that will protect the building and expand its life much beyond what was anticipated.
This was a very complex project, but we were thrilled to be able to deliver it on time, on budget, and to dramatically improve both the appearance and energy efficiency of this building.
We are very proud to have been able to work on this project, and also to see our work acknowledged by an organisation such as INCA. Alongside our work with individual homeowners, our commercial jobs are something that we love to do. This job, along with the others acclaimed at the INCA awards, has also received a full write-up in Housing Association Magazine. The online version of the Housing Association Magazine article can be found here.
